The 2023 GCSE students from Loreto College Coleraine have been celebrating truly outstanding examination results, following results day on 24th August.
Of all students in the year group, 96% gained five grades A*-C or better, with 87% attaining seven A*-C grades. 92% of all grades obtained were A*-C.
Among the very top achievers, Aisling McIntyre scored a magnificent 11 A* grades. Sinéad Close and Grace Quinn each scored nine A* grades and one A, while Ruby Galbraith and Niamh Harmer achieved a wonderful 8 A* and 1 A grade each. Paudie Kelly and Connie McBride achieved 7 A* and 3 A grades, while Tom Magee scored 7 A* and 2 A grades. An amazing total of 47 students (29% of the year group) scored six A grades or better.
Mr Stephen Gallagher, Principal of Loreto College, congratulated the students on these outstanding results, commending them on their hard work, dedication and resilience throughout their GCSE years. Mr Gallagher also thanked and paid tribute to the teaching and support staff of Loreto College, who had guided the students through their courses with such conscientious expertise.
The Loreto College Year 12 students of 2023 have much to celebrate as they prepare for the new academic year: 130 students, the largest number ever, are now set to begin their A Level studies at Loreto College. The future is bright for these exceptional young students.
