History! Loreto College Senior Boys Basketball won the Northern Ireland region of Basketball Ireland schools’ competition by defeating reigning champions Abbey Newry in today’s play off final. It was a fiercely contested game, with Loreto taking an early 9-0 lead, fending off many come back runs from their opponents and closing out the game 38-31. Top scorers for Loreto were Jack McBroom 15; John Campbell 9; Dominik Sobicinski 6; Daniel Lawlor 6 and Joe McLaughlin 2.
