“The only thing better than singing, is more singing.” This quote is from one of the greatest jazz singers of all time, Ella Fitzgerald.

Singing is an activity for everyone. It lifts the spirits, makes you feel good and singing with others gives a sense of camaraderie and community. Importantly, choir is a place where friendships are formed.

Junior Choir is open to all pupils from year 8, 9 and 10. It is an activity for both boys and girls to enjoy. We rehearse every Thursday from 15.20 – 16.15 in the Music Department where we learn a wide variety of music. We explore repertoire from John Rutter to Ben E. King’s “Stand by Me”. The Junior Choir performs at a variety of school events including school masses, the annual Carol Service, the annual Open Day and at the Spring Concert. The choir has achieved much success over the years in many local music festivals as well as the UTV Choir of the year competition.

Everyone is welcome to come along to junior choir on a Thursday after school and be part of the musical life of Loreto College.
