29/04/2016 STUDENTS COLLABORATE IN SHARED EDUCATION HISTORY PROJECT

Year 9 students from Loreto College, Coleraine Grammar School and St Joseph’s College Coleraine worked together on their studies of the Ulster Plantation as part of the Shared Education initiative during the final week of April.

The event, hosted in Loreto College, saw approximately 440 Year 9 students from all three schools taking part in workshops on the Ulster Plantation led by The Armagh Heritage Centre.

Mr Bob Murphy, Head of History at Loreto College, paid tribute to Mr Emmett Harkin, Shared Education Co-ordinator at Loreto, who organised the workshops, commenting that this had been an excellent opportunity for the students from all three schools to work together in learning about their shared history.
