19/11/2015 ROTARY YOUTH LEADERSHIP HONOUR FOR LORETO COLLEGE STUDENT

A student from Loreto College Coleraine has been named runner-up in the Regional final of the annual Rotary Youth Leadership Development competition, having won through to this stage at the Coleraine area heat of the competition.

Cariosa O’Harte, who is in Year 13 at Loreto College represented the local area in the regional heat on Wednesday 18th November, and greatly impressed the adjudicators with her presentational

No stranger to success, Cariosa is well known in Loreto College as an accomplished musician as well as for significant academic success.  One of Loreto’s top achievers at GCSE, Cariosa was placed Second in CCEA GCSE Economics, and is now studying for A Levels in Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics and Physics.  Cariosa is well known in Loreto for her outstanding harp playing, and is a member of the College’s very successful traditional group as well as an excellent soloist.  She is also a member of the College’s Bank of England Interest Rate Target 2.0 team, which qualified this week for the Regional Finals having won the Northern Ireland heat.

Mr Michael James, Principal of Loreto College, congratulated Cariosa on this highly impressive achievement, commending her on her enthusiasm, hard work and leadership skills as well as her generosity in contributing to many areas of school life.
