13/08/2015 LORETO COLLEGE CONGRATULATES STUDENTS ON A LEVEL SUCCESS

The Principal of Loreto College has congratulated the Year 14 students of 2015 on a very pleasing set of A level results.

Speaking on A level Results Day, Mr Michael James, College Principal, said:
“I am very pleased with the performance of our A Level students, who have once again performed very well in this year’s A Level examinations. Over one third of all grades achieved by our students were A* or A grades and over two thirds of all grades achieved were a grade B or better. 100% of students achieved two or more A*-E grades, whilst 99% of all students achieved three or more grades A*-E. This compares very favourably with last year’s results. Among our top performers, fifteen students achieved the fantastic standard of 3 A grades or better.

“I congratulate all our students and the teachers for these results and thank them for their hard work and dedication throughout the past year. They all thoroughly deserve these fine results.”

The students who attained three A grades or better were: Mairead Carey, Cliodhna Devlin, Eimear Dillon, Ciara Dinsmore, Jordan Kelly, Annie McBride, Matthew McGee, Maria McLaughlin, Hannah McMullan, Joseph McNerlin, Catherine McNicholl, Geraldine Mellon, Ellen Moloney, Brega Mullan and Caolan O’Neill.   Among these, Annie McBride gained a wonderful three A* grades in Biology, Chemistry and Physics along with an A in Mathematics, while Caolan O’Neill gained an outstanding three A* grades in English Language, English Literature and Religious Education.
