23/09/2014 CELEBRATORY MASS MARKS THE OPENING OF THE SCHOOL YEAR AT LORETO COLLEGE

The Opening Mass for the academic year 2014-2015 was celebrated at Loreto College Coleraine on Tuesday 23rd September 2014, by Father Rory Sheehan and Father Francis O’Brien. The theme of the Mass was ‘Love One Another’, and it offered reflection on ethos of friendship and support inherent in every member of the school community, and how these might be nurtured in the year ahead.

The Mass also offered an opportunity for every member of the Loreto College community to remember student Anna McAllister, as well as to pray for all of those who have lost relatives and friends in recent months.  Following the Mass, a presentation was made on behalf of the College to Father Rory Sheehan, who is moving to a parish in Belfast and will be greatly missed at Loreto College.

Organised by school Liturgist Mr Kevin Conroy and by the members of the RE department, with support from the Music Department and Art Department and involving every member of the school community and the Loreto Community, the Mass provided an inspirational reflection for the year ahead.
