20/06/2014 RECYCLING CHALLENGE AWARD FOR LORETO COLLEGE

The pupils and staff of Loreto College have been working hard this year to raise awareness and practice of recycling, both in school and at home, as part of the 2014 Schools Recycling Challenge.

Members of the College’s LEAP Club – Loreto Environmental Awareness Project – attended a reception at the Coleraine Borough Council offices on Friday 20th June, at which Loreto College was presented with a Bronze Award for their recycling efforts by River Ridge Recycling.  Loreto College is now recycling up to 405 of its waste, and remains confident that this will increase in future.

Students Emmett Brolly (Year 11) and Joseph Mulholland (Year 10) received the award from George Duddy, Mayor of Coleraine, and Mr John Dallat, MLA.  Ms Sinead Mullan, who runs the Loreto Environmental Awareness Project, along with the students who take part in the group, was congratulated on this success by Mr Michael James, Principal of Loreto College.
