25/11/2013 SUCCESS FOR LORETO COLLEGE STUDENTS IN ROTARY YOUNG CHEF COMPETITION

The Rotary Club of Coleraine held a Young Chef competition at Loreto College Coleraine, on Friday 22nd November 2013.

Loreto College was represented at the event by Year 11 students Naomi Anderson, Courtney McLaughlin, Una McCloskey, Tara McLarnon, Clodagh McGahon and Orlaigh Toner, alongside Year 12 students Tara Canning and Bronagh Rafferty.

The winner of the event was  Tara McLarnon, who now goes through to the regional heats in Belfast, and potentially to the all-Ireland final in Dublin.

All the competitors were given a gift, and the winner, Tara McLarnon also gets the opportunity to spend a day at the Ramore Wine Bar complex, learning some of the secrets involved in making the famous Wine Bar desserts.

Mrs Mabel McAleese, Head of Home Economics at Loreto College, commented that all the students had represented Loreto with great distinction at the event.  Mr Michael James, Principal of Loreto College, congratulated Tara McLarnon on her success in the competition, wishing her well for the next round on behalf of all the staff and students of the College.
