A Year 10 student from Loreto College has achieved Black Belt status in Shotokan Karate.

Emma Mullan, who is in Year 10 at Loreto College, trains with the Zanshin NI Club, Coleraine, where she is coached by Terry Geddis. Through her enthusiasm and dedication for her chosen sport, she has achieved her Black Belt at a commendably young age.

Emma paid tribute to her coach, Sensei Terry Geddis, and to all those who have supported her throughout her Karate training to date.

Mrs Maureen McCullough, Head of PE at Loreto College Coleraine, commented that Emma’s success was an exciting and inspiring example to all her fellow students.  On behalf of all the staff and students of Loreto, Mr Michael James, College Principal, congratulated Emma on her achievements to date and wished her every success in her ongoing karate career.
