A group of young artists from Loreto College Coleraine will enjoy some public recognition in the weeks ahead when their work goes on display in the Pretty Crafty Design Studio, Castlerock.

The artists, from the College’s GCSE and A level Art and Design classes, were invited to display their work following the impressive exhibition staged by the Department for the College’s annual Open Day in January. Since then, they have been hard at work under the guidance of Head of Art and Design Mr Paul Cunning and Art and Design teacher Miss Michelle McGarvey to put together a colourful, lively, varied and thought-provoking selection of pieces which range from portraiture to ceramics, fashion design to conceptual art.

The exhibition opens with a ticket-only affair on Monday evening, 18th April, and will run for several weeks at the Pretty Crafty Studios. Pretty Crafty Studios lie between Castlerock and Downhill, just opposite the Lions’ Gate. The exhibition is a non-profit making enterprise, and sale of the students’ work will not be permitted; however local art enthusiasts should avail of this opportunity to appreciate some superb work by local talents of the future.
