29/09/2011 DON’T MISS GUYS AND DOLLS AT LORETO COLLEGE!

Final rehearsals are underway at Loreto College Coleraine for the school’s production of well-known musical ‘Guys and Dolls’, which opens on Tuesday 11th October.

Based on the short stories of Damon Runyon, ‘Guys and Dolls’ has music and lyrics by Frank Loesser, and premiered on Broadway in 1950.  A tale of gamblers, chorus girls, a Mission Band and the ultimate redemption of true love, the show features a number of well-known songs, including ‘Luck be a Lady’, ‘Adelaide’s Lament’ and ‘Sit Down you’re Rocking the Boat.’

Directed by Mrs Oonah McEwan, Head of Drama at Loreto College, with musical direction by Mr Howard Gillespie and choreography by Ms Vanessa Chapman, the show features a talented cast from leading roles to chorus line.  Talents to watch for in the lead roles include Niamh Meehan, Ruth Bleakley, Una-Marie Darragh, Maria Mooney, Darryl Wills, Conor Doherty-Greene, Ruairi Mooney, John McLister, Ben Levy and many more.

Some tickets are still available for the show, which opens on Tuesday 11th October for a four-night run in the College Hall.  Tickets, priced at £8 adult, £5 concession and £20 for a family ticket, are on sale from the School Office: telephone number 028 70343611. The Opening Night looks like being a particularly exciting and unmissable occasion – don’t miss this opportunity to secure tickets!

Mr Michael James, Principal of Loreto College, wished the cast, crew and directors of ‘Guys and Dolls’ well as they move into their final days of rehearsing and performing.
‘We hope nobody will miss this opportunity to book tickets for a great evening’s entertainment,’ Mr James added.

With ‘Guys and Dolls’ promising to be one of the liveliest, funniest and most entertaining shows staged in the Coleraine area this year, those who wish to see it should book straight away, before tickets sell out.
