Y13 students and teachers who are travelling to Spain for an Exchange Trip

A group of A level Spanish students from Loreto College Coleraine, Specialist School, and their teacher will spend ten days in Spain as the Spring Term draws to a close.

A party of thirteen Year 13 students, all of whom are studying Spanish to AS level this year, along with Loreto’s Head of Spanish, Mr Peter Loughran, will leave for Granada on Tuesday 12th April, returning to Coleraine on Thursday 21st April.  The Loreto College group will be joining with fellow A level Spanish students and their teachers from three schools in Co. Armagh: St Paul’s High School Bessbrook, St Catherine’s College Armagh and St Michael’s Grammar School Lurgan.  In total, 43 students and four teachers will make the journey from Northern Ireland to Granada.

During their time in Spain, the students will be living with Spanish families, as well as taking part in a number of activities with their exchange partner students.  They will enjoy activities such as a formal reception at Granada Town Hall, a trip to Sierra Nevada, a trip to the beach at Almunecar as well as trips to the Alhambra, to the Science Museum and an opportunity to go shopping for souvenirs. The students will, of course, be encouraged to perfect their use of Spanish and to benefit from their experience of everyday life in Spain!

As the group prepared to depart for Granada, they were wished ‘buen viaje’ by Mr Brian Lenehan, Principal of Loreto College, on behalf of all the staff and students of the school.
