Students from Loreto College Coleraine have collected an impressive 210 boxes of gifts for children in Bosnia and Croatia in conjunction with the Road of Hope Shoebox Appeal.

The local Road of Hope and Shoe Box Appeal,  co-ordinated by Fiona and Dominic Kelly from Rasharkin, annually collects lorry loads of much needed essential items to be taken to orphaned children and poor families in Bosnia and Croatia, hopefully by early December in time for Christmas.

The list of items required by the Shoe Box Appeal is endless and includes clothes for all ages, boys and girls; toiletries; soap; toothpaste and toothbrushes; towels; sheets and warm blankets; dried packed food and tinned foods are all useful.

Visiting Loreto College to receive the donation of 210 Shoeboxes, Fiona Kelly of Road of Hope paid tribute to the pupils who had filled the boxes of gifts, and to Mrs Lorraine McCool, Social Justice Co-ordinator, for their tremendous generosity and dedication.
