Two members of the 2009 Year 14 class from Loreto College Coleraine, Specialist School, have received accolades from the Northern Ireland examination board, CCEA, in recognition of outstanding performance in their A level examinations in June 2009.

Patrick Kelly was placed first in Northern Ireland in A level Economics.  Patrick, who was Head Boy at the College in the 2008-2009  academic year, received four A grades in his A levels and is now studying Law at the University of Newcastle. This is not Patrick’s first award from CCEA: in 2007, he was placed third in Northern Ireland in GCSE Drama.

Nicola McLister was placed joint second in Northern Ireland in A level Geography.  Having scored three A grades and one B in her A levels, Nicola is now studying Pharmacy at Queen’s University Belfast.

Both Nicola and Patrick, along with their teachers, Miss Belinda Toner (Economics) and Miss Elizabeth Curry and Mr Liam Shaw (Geography) were congratulated on these outstanding achievements by Mr Brian Lenehan, Principal of Loreto College.
