13/06/2008 EMPLOYABILITY WORKSHOP FOR LORETO COLLEGE STUDENTS

All Year 11 students at Loreto College Coleraine, Specialist School enjoyed an Employability and Enterpreneurship day on Friday 13th June.

The students were first of all given a presentation by Mr Gerry McGouran, Head of Economics, on what is meant by and involved in the concept and practice of enterpreneurship. Having considered the personal qualities required in such an area of employment, the students then considered the global and ethical implications through a presentation entitled A day in the life of a t-shirt.

Later, the students explored interview and presentation techniques through a role-play led by Mrs Jane Nugent, Head of Pastoral Care and Y11 Head of Year, and Miss Sinead McCallan, Learning for Life and Work Co-ordinator.

Mr Brian Lenehan, College Principal, paid tribute to the members of staff who contributed great amounts of time and expertise to make this an extremely beneficial workshop for all Y11 students.
