07/02/2019 THE TOP TABLE

As part of the Politics strand of the Shared Education project, Coleraine Grammar School and Loreto College were invited to make up the audience at Stephen Nolan’s The Top Table show on Wednesday 6th February.  The show’s aim is to give an airing to the voice of today’s young people on current affairs.

Loreto and Coleraine Grammar Year 13 Politics students had an ice-breaking session in the morning before getting the bus to the BBC Studios in Belfast.  Students from both schools had the opportunity to ask questions and speak with Stephen Nolan after the show.  Issues discussed were abortion, veganism and the class barrier.

It was a very enjoyable day.  Mr Harkin was especially pleased to meet actor Charlie Lawson, better known perhaps as Jim McDonald from Coronation Street!
