16/05/2018 EXAMINATION AWARD FOR LORETO COLLEGE STUDENT

A student from Loreto College Coleraine has been recognised among the very top students achieving A* grades in last summer’s CCEA GCSE examinations. 

Fionnuala Keane was placed first in GCSE Economics, and was presented with her award at a CCEA Celebrating Excellence ceremony held at Titanic Belfast.  Fionnuala is continuing her studies at Loreto College, studying Economics, Chemistry, Mathematics and RE.  She has recently been appointed Head Girl at Loreto for 2018-2019.

Other success stories at Loreto College in the Summer 2017 examination session included Sean Quinn was placed first in A Level Economics, while Aidan O’Boyle was placed third.  Also at A Level, Aoife Keane was placed second in Software Systems Development.  All three students have now left Loreto College to begin their University studies: Sean Quinn is reading Medicine at the University of Liverpool, Aidan O’Boyle is reading Actuarial Science at Queen’s University Belfast, and Aoife Keane is reading Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. At GCSE, Cabrina Farren was placed joint second in Home Economics. 

Mr Michael James, Principal of Loreto College, congratulated all five students and the members of the Economics, Home Economics and Computing/SSD departments on these wonderful achievements, on behalf of all the staff and students of the College.
