Scenes from the Loreto Craft Fair

The Loreto Craft Fair, organised by Mrs Michelle McGill in conjunction with the Friends of Loreto, took place in the Convent House on a very wintry evening on 12th December.

The event was well attended by lots of families connected with Loreto.  We were especially pleased to welcome some members of the Loreto Community in Coleraine to the Fair.

Visitors to the Craft Fair were able to do some Christmas shopping, with items on offer ranging from home-made non-alcoholic mulled wine, to hand-turned pens, to Christmas decorations and much more.  Several Loreto students took stalls, including Lauren Monaghan (Year 13) who makes beautiful hand-made jewellery, and Katie Mulholland (Year 10) – another very talented young crafter.

The Fair also featured an exhibition of beautiful landscape art created by Year 11 Art & Design students with their counterparts from Coleraine Grammar School and St Joseph’s College in recent weeks – Mrs McGill is justifiably very proud of the students’ work!

The Craft Fair was a great opportunity for some Christmas shopping, or even just a catch-up over a cup of tea and a mince pie, for all those who attended.  Congratulations to Mrs McGill and the Friends of Loreto Committee on a very successful winter’s evening.
