08/11/2017 EXAMINATION TRIUMPH FOR LORETO COLLEGE STUDENTS

Several students from Loreto College Coleraine have been recognised among the very top students achieving A* grades in last summer’s CCEA A Level and GCSE examinations.

At A Level, Sean Quinn was placed first in Economics, while Aidan O’Boyle was placed third.  Also at A Level, Aoife Keane was placed second in Software Systems Development.  All three students have now left Loreto College to begin their University studies: Sean Quinn is reading Medicine at the University of Liverpool, Aidan O’Boyle is reading Actuarial Science at Queen’s University Belfast, and Aoife Keane is reading Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde.

At GCSE, there was another success for the Economics Department, with Fionnuala Keane placed first, while Cabrina Farren was placed joint second in Home Economics.  Both Fionnuala and Cabrina have embarked upon their A Level studies at Loreto College, each having gained a magnificent ten A* grades in their GCSE examinations.

All five students will be presented with awards from CCEA in their Celebrating Excellence Awards event. Mr Michael James, Principal of Loreto College, congratulated all five students and the members of the Economics, Home Economics and Computing/SSD departments on these wonderful achievements, on behalf of all the staff and students of the College.
